La Jornada

La Jornada is a dynamic 6-month small group experience that invites Spanish-speaking adult believers into a personal exploration of discovering who God is, who they are, and what God wants to do through them. It is designed to help pastors and church leaders invest in the discipleship and character formation of the adult believers in their congregation.

How does La Jornada actually work?

A DIVERSE GROUP OF PEOPLE...Typically groups are made up of 4-10 people who include men and women, young and old, experienced leaders and those just beginning to explore their potential.

OVER SIX MONTHS...Groups typically begin in September or October and meet together through March or April.

WEEKLY SMALL GROUP GATHERINGS...Participants will come together in weekly, 2-hour small group meetings, guided by a trained facilitator, that encourage accountable, safe relationships, thoughtful reflection, honest conversation, and prayer.

REGULAR STUDY AND PREPARATION...Group members spend 2-4 hours each week reading and prayerfully reflecting on the content presented in the manual, a book of the Bible, and the recommended text for each stage. They also spend time practicing spiritual disciplines and reflecting on how what they are learning is shaping their own lives and the lives of people they know.

STAGES ON THIS JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY...There are three manuals that guide La Jornada. In addition to regular Bible reading these three manuals will launch the participants’ reflection and conversation from week to week.

  • Etapa 1: Fundamentos Bíblicos del Liderazgo...helps participants discover the biblical foundations of leadership
  • Etapa 2: Fundamentos Personales del Liderazgo...helps participants discover our personal foundations in leadership: Who has God created us to be?
  • Una Jornada Con Otros...helps participants discover what it means to walk alongside someone as we journey together.

A TRAINED FACILITATOR…Each group is guided by a person(s) who has been equipped and prepared to facilitate La Jornada process. To get more information on how you can be a trained facilitator or bring La Jornada to your church, contact us...

MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS... Participants are encouraged to identify a mentor or spiritual friend who they meet with twice a month for conversation and support.
