THE ENRICHING CONVERSATION

The Enriching Conversation is a 6-8 month small group process, which invites participants to explore together the work of developing others as Christian leaders. (Participants are required to have completed the Emerging Journey; Equipping Experience is recommended.)

How does this Enriching Conversation process actually work? 

TAKING YET ANOTHER STEP…Participants are challenged to build on the discoveries of their Emerging Journey and Enriching Conversation by exploring the importance of (1) intentionally cultivating their inner lives as Christian leaders, while at the same time (2) intentionally developing others as leaders for their lifelong development as Christian leaders.

REGULAR GROUP GATHERINGS… The number of Enriching Conversation sessions is less than in The Emerging Journey and The Equipping Conversation. The group may decide to meet regularly, but less frequently throughout the year. For example many find that meeting twice a month fosters a good group rhythm.

REGULAR STUDY AND PREPARATION...Group members spend 1-3 hours each week reading and prayerfully reflecting on the content presented in the manual and a book of the Bible. They also spend time practicing spiritual disciplines and reflecting on how what they are learning is shaping their own lives and the lives of people they know.

FOUR STAGES TO THE JOURNEY... here are four manuals that guide the four stages to The Equipping Experience. These four manuals will launch the participants’ leadership learning conversation…

  • Stage 1: A Spirituality for Christian Leadership (5 sessions)
  • Stage 2: Developing Others as Leaders (5 sessions)
  • Stage 3: A Lifelong Journey (5 sessions
  • Stage 4: A Focused Work (5 sessions)

THE ENRICHING RETREAT… Each October we kick off the year with a retreat together with participants, facilitators and other guests from various churches across North America. We have designed this experience to be a context of shared thought, preparation, and prayer for the year.  All Enriching Conversation participants & facilitators are invited.
